SYNOPSIS

On the morning of June 28, 1997, Frenchman Roni Levi waves a knife in the air on Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach, mid-mental breakdown. Nearby on the promenade, Roni’s French friends Tina and Daniel are mid-argument with a pair of Australians, their dispute fueled by the tension between their two nations, when they notice Roni being circled by Australian police officers. At the same time, Roni’s French photographer friend Jean Pierre happens to be out on the ocean’s rocks when he notices Roni and the police. He grabs his camera and begins to snap photos of the encounter. He clicks away as two cops, Podesta and DiLorenzo, close in on Roni, then gun him down. Four bullets later, Roni lies dead on the beach. Podesta and Dilorenzo radio their supervisors that Roni rushed them and they had to shoot. But Jean Pierre’s photos will prove otherwise. We rewind the clock to figure out how we got here…
